- Assists with and performs under direction of General Maintenance “A” in performance of duties
- Makes mechanical repairs
- Reads mechanical prints and identifies bearings by type, thrust, radial, pillow block, etc., and has a good knowledge of bearing and shaft fits. Disassembles gear boxes, identifies components per prints and reassemble
- Sets up and operates machine shop equipment in conjunction with repairs and parts fabrication
- Makes electrical repairs and/or assists with electrical trouble shooting, modifications and new installations
- Has some ability to read and trouble shoot from hydraulic prints. Repair hydraulic valves and pumps from manufacture spec sheets
- General knowledge of air conditioning and ability to check pressure, amperage, charge, and trouble shoot
- Performs maintenance welding such as that required to fabricate per prints or sketches that may also require using acetylene and oxygen torch
- Utilize safe work habits
- Wear appropriate PPE
- Comply with all NOV Company policies, guidelines and procedures
- Comply with all HSE policies, guidelines and procedures
- Comply with all Quality policies, guidelines and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
- Three years minimum of mechanical and/or electrical experience
- Must have established competence in two or more of the mechanical/electrical trades and be knowledgeable in two additional trades. (Millwright, Building Maintenance, Machinist, Electrical-Electronic, Hydraulic-Pneumatic)
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work overtime and shift work as required
- Standing up to 12 hours daily
- Walking up to 12 hours daily
- Bending/Stooping up to 12 hours daily
- Repetitive Movement (shoveling/sweeping/fastening) up to 12 hours daily
- Lifting weights up to 50 lbs. regularly
- Push/Pull up to 12 hours daily
- Problem Solving/Judgement
- Ability to read precision gauges
- Ability to use hand tools correctly and safely
- Ability to adapt and be cross-trained to learn all job duties as required
- Ability to learn technical repair and assembly guidelines and procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
