Rogers Group Inc. is currently seeking General Laborer with experience to support our Western Kentucky Construction team. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead safety, quality, and revenue generation throughout our existing operations and additional operations through growth.
Western Kentucky Construction – Rogers Group Inc – Hopkinsville, KY
Pay: Starting at $ 22.00 per hour. Candidates may be eligible for higher base pay depending on experience and skill set.
The successful candidate for this position will be competent and skilled at completing various general and manual labor tasks around the jobsite – both in grading work and/or in asphalt. They will also have familiarity and experience working around various pieces of heavy equipment. The successful candidate will also have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence.
- Complete various manual labor tasks around the job site.
- Provide directions to and take tickets from trucks and suppliers on the job site.
- Operate some heavy equipment – such as a skid steer or backhoe – as needed.
- Perform daily pre-and post- inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies. Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management.
- Effective communication skills applicable to position.
- Operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency.
- Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, dust, etc.).
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Must be able to climb in and out of vehicles and equipment safely.
- Must have sufficient hand-eye coordination to operate tools, equipment, and vehicles safely.
- Must be able to remain alert and attentive for extended periods, particularly when directing or controlling traffic in high-risk environments.
- Dedication to safe work practices.
- 1-2 years experience in construction work is preferred.
- Ability to reliably report to work daily, and on-time/early.
- Ability to perform general laborer and clean-up duties as needed/directed.
- A willingness to learn and train on new pieces of grading and asphalt equipment.
- May be called upon at the discretion of management to perform any other duties assigned and/or assist other areas as necessary.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
- Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours as necessary.
- Pass pre-employment drug screen.
- Able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record and Valid Driver’s License required.
