The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an Instrumentation Technician to join our Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations in Greater Sudbury, Ontario.
The position will be based in Greater Sudbury, Ontario.
This is a full-time, permanent, unionized position.
Work location is not accessible by public transportation.
Duties and Accountabilities:
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Instrumentation Technician assume responsibility for the maintenance and upgrading of existing process control and information technology systems in operational areas.
Directs instrumentation technicians, trouble shoots, repairs, maintains, calibrates and develops standard and special process measurement and control systems.

Education And Skills
The incumbent must have Industrial Instrumentation Engineering Technician diploma or the equivalent. Four years practical experience in process measurement and control equipment installation, application and maintenance at the Technician II level or higher equivalent. A holder of a Natural Gas License would be beneficial.
The successful candidate must demonstrate a high level of technical skill in leadership, planning, organizing, analysis, communication, management and decision making. Thorough knowledge of industrial applications of computers, microcomputers, distributed control systems; industrial buss communication and programmable logic controllers. Programming experience in a variety of language, protocols and process applications
