The Gasoline Trader will be a member of a dynamic Global Middle Distillates and Gasoline oil Team based in Houston and will be responsible for the development and promotion of gasoline and gasoline components trading, interacting with companies involved in the refining, distribution, transportation, storage, blending and sale of hydrocarbons.
Responsibilities:
•Individual will develop, negotiate and conclude clean oil products trades (Gasoline or Gasoline components) in line with the company global strategy.
•Deep focus on the US and Latam market, and knowledge of market flows that affect those markets.
•Analyzes the market and build strategies either/both in physical or/and paper to maximize P&L.
•Develops and maintains business relations with key counterparties and market players i.e. producers, refiners, traders and end-users to keep abreast of market developments and opportunities.
•Active participation in a team P&L/value generation. Knowledge of price/pricing concepts & structure.
•Provide accurate information to the management and key people in the company to facilitate decision making and reach the goals marked by the strategic plan.
•Design and help to design hedge strategies for physical positions.
•Communicate with traders and refinery personnel in Repsol refining System, particularly in Latam.
•Assess customers’ credit terms and availability. Negotiate payment terms, title transfers and all key contract items to achieve closure.
•Perform all of these activities to company standards within a highly controlled environment governed by external regulatory requirements as well as internal controls.
•Communicate and develop remote (phone) business relationships.
•Participate in digitalization.
Qualifications:
•Legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship.
•A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
•A minimum of 3 years of experience in petroleum products trading, preferably Gasoline trading.
•The willingness and ability to travel.
•Understands the flows and activity of relevant refiners and traders.
•Good risk management and understanding of implied exposure and optimality within contracts and the overall book.
•Strong knowledge of US markets, New York and Gulf Coast.
•Knowledge of European, Latin America and WAF markets a plus.
•Knowledge of storage management facilities.
•Knowledge of refineries production worldwide.
•Understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
•Knowledge of the system Bloomberg or Reuters or other energy applications.
•Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
•Ability to work under pressure.
•Ability to take initiative and be innovative.
•Demonstrated exemplary negotiation skills.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Effective organization skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
•Acute attention to detail executed with minimal error margin
