The position of Loader Operator within the Supply Chain department supports logistics and yard operations by operating a front-end loader with grapples in a safe and appropriate manner to transport tubular product and accessories within the yard alongside a Yard Labourer or Yard Technician for clients in the oil and gas industry. Effective communication on radio devices is essential. Additionally, the Loader Operator must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by legislation, policies and procedures.

Ability to work varied hours and a rotational on-call schedule is a requirement for this position
· Using a loader to safely transport tubular product (OCTG) and accessories to prepare truck loads
· Partner with Yard Labourers and Yard Technicians to complete various material moving tasks
· Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures
· Adhere to safe work area marked by cones for personal equipment and the equipment of other operators
· Perform daily pre-safety and maintenance checks of equipment to ensure safe operation
· Participate in routine maintenance; Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required
· Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored
· Actively participate in company safety meetings, procedures and programs; correct unsafe work practices or situations; follow reporting protocols for violations; participate in the Hazard Identification process
· Perform pre-winter, winter, spring and summer maintenance on yard
· Minimum 2 years of experience operating John Deer & Cat loaders with bucket or grapple
· Experience handling tubular goods with grapples, an asset (i.e. OCTG or Lumber)
· Class 5 Driver’s License and clean drivers abstract, an asset
· Heavy Equipment Certificate or Loader Operator Certificate required (can be trained on the job)
· Skid steer operation experience and certificate, an asset
· First Aid Certification required (can be trained after hired)
· Annual Eye Exams, required (arranged for and paid for by the company)
· Knowledge of safe equipment operation and procedures, maintenance and cleaning standards
· Strong problem solving, analytical, decision making, organization and communication skills
· Punctual, reliable, and willing to work flexible hours including overtime and weekends
· Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software is an asset
· Time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and ensure completion to meet deadlines
· Attention to detail is critical in this role
· Comfortable working outside for long durations in varied weather conditions
· Ability to sit for long durations in equipment. Subject to vibrations of equipment while in operation.
