The Foundry Operator is responsible for the daily processing of Precious Metals bearing
materials by means of melting into bullion bars or metallic granulation.
Maintain a professional environment in which work is performed.
Perform all activities in a safe and efficient manner.
Operate a forklift to move material to and from the work area.
Reference and utilize Metallix Management System for production lots and follow accordingly.
Enter data into the Metallix Management System data base.
Ensure batch paperwork is filled out correctly (Gross, Tare, and Net weights, Lot #, # of containers, Seal #’s etc.)
Operating furnace(s), loading, and pouring of material into bullion.
Perform all work safely, correctly, and efficiently by following standard operating procedures pertaining to the Foundry department.
Cleaning bullion of any slag and unwanted debris, then load into sealed and weighed containers.
Prepare drill samples of low-grade melts from sample bars.
Transfer correct date, lot# and weight information on sample envelopes.
Collect sample bars and sort by Lot# and date of melt into labeled bags.
Notify management of any unsafe conditions or any unusual occurrences that may happen while operating induction melt units such as: water leaks, current fluctuations, excessive smoke etc.
Follow all company quality, environmental, safety and health rules and regulations.
Keep work area free of unnecessary clutter, trash, empty drums, etc.
Pushing, pulling of drums and equipment which could weigh in excess of 100 lbs.
Lifting up to 50 lbs., bending and stretching.
Perform any other duties as requested by your supervisor.
Schedule: The employees assigned shift will be annotated in the Payroll
System. Employees may be required to work any shift, including evening,
weekend or holiday shifts, as needed by the Company. Any modifications to
the employee's schedule will be communicated by the Manager. This is a
full-time position, but some overtime work may be required.
RCRA: This position will require interaction with hazardous waste. Metallix
promotes a culture of safety and is committed to taking all steps necessary
to ensure a safe and healthy working environment. This position requires
that the following duties be carried out in accordance with state and federal
- Handle hazardous waste at Satellite Accumulation Areas;
- Participate in annual RCRA hazardous waste training.
Be a “U.S. person” pursuant to section 120.15 of the International Traffic in
Some warehouse or plant manufacturing experience is preferred.
Ability to work flexible schedules and mandatory department overtime as needed.
