Travis Pattern and Foundry has an immediate opening for a forklift fleet mechanic. The essential duties of this position will be to perform routine maintenance, inspections, repairs, and rebuilds of plant forklifts. Welding skills are desirable but not required. This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position.

We are hiring for day shift, M – F 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

We are only hiring for full-time work - 40/hr week or more, overtime is available.

Hourly wage range: $20.25 – 30.15/hr*

- Wages are DOE, subject to a variety of factors including but not limited to: prior relevant experience, skilled experience and/or certifications in specific areas of skilled manufacturing.

We are a Union Shop. We are part of the USW Local #289 M (United Steel Paper and Forestry, Rubber, Manufacturing, Energy, Allied Industrial and Service Workers International) Union.

You must be at least 18 years of age to apply for this position and be able to perform the following essential tasks continuously, for an 8-hour shift.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

- Troubleshoot, adjust, and repair forklifts

- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electric, or pneumatic problems and determine how to correct them, reviewing repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary

- Preventative maintenance and routine checks on forklifts, oil changes, hydraulic line repairs, brakes, etc.

- Operate a variety of hand and power tools to repair, grease, weld, cut, change parts, and complete tasks

- Safe and effective use of hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools; any candidate must have demonstrated experience with appropriate safety and PPE requirements for each job

- Keep a clean and organized workspace

- Other duties as assigned

Forklifts:

- LPG forklifts (Toyota, Clark, & Doosan) with 3k – 8k lift capacity

- +/- 70 forklifts in operation

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

- High school diploma / equivalent

- Experience as a forklift mechanic and/or general mechanic

- Working knowledge of hand/power tools

- Must have attention to detail and the ability to multi-task

- Ability to use a computer and enter work orders – tracking/billing inventory and detailing repair – E-Maintenance Software

- Strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and positive team attitude

- Ability to work with a variety of personalities and manage repair timelines between departments

- Must be reliable

- Experience and working knowledge of lock out/tag out

- Experience and working knowledge of confined space work

- Familiarity with OSHA/WISHA regulation

- Ability to read/write simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos

- Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanics

- Work in both hot and cold work environments

Physical Requirements:

- In the course of regular job duties, you will be required to squat, bend, stoop, kneel, stand, climb and crawl

- Lifting will be required with assistance provided if needed

- Hand dexterity is required in this positoin and the ability to use hand tools is essential

Working Conditions:

- Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel, fuel, fumes and noise

- Exposure to climate condition of the geographic area

- Exposure to chemicals, oils, grease, paints, or other irritants
