Westland is looking for senior leaders to join our forestry team. We are particularly looking for leaders in the following forestry fields: Operations; Planning and Development; and Silviculture.
This is an engaging and exciting opportunity to be a senior member of Westland’s forestry group and our management of multiple forest tenures. You will be an integral part of Westland’s management team and play a key role in developing staff by providing leadership and mentorship, while still being able to get your hands dirty.

- Act as a subject matter expert in your field(s) of expertise.

- Identify and develop new opportunities for Westland or our clients.You have at least 15 (preferred 20+) years’ experience in forestry in BC, including:
- Subject Matter Expertise in at least one of Operations; Planning and Development; or Silviculture. Additional experience in Log Marketing, Wildfire, Strategy and Policy, or other aspect(s) of natural resource management would also be an asset.
- Experience with forest management technologies and applications related to your area(s) of expertise.
- Working knowledge of the spectrum of forestry services within natural resources management, their interaction, and how they relate to achievement of client and company objectives.
- Education in forestry or a related field. Registration with Forest Professionals BC (RFT or RPF) is preferred but is not compulsory.
- Ability to work in a Team environment pursuing opportunities to improve systems, find efficiencies, and problem solve.A comprehensive benefits package (at the time of hire), profit sharing opportunities, pension allowance, coverage of professional dues, allowances for personal equipment, health and wellness and moving, work schedule flexibility (to promote work/ life balance) with paid days for family commitments, and professional development and training opportunities, plus a minimum signing bonus of $1,500 (after a set period). The annual salary (typically $100,000 to 120,000) will be confirmed based on experience.
