As part of the Fixed Maintenance Team, the Fixed Plant Maintenance General Foreperson will be responsible for leading and managing a team of fixed maintenance supervisor, technicians (Millwrights), and support staff engaged in the maintenance and repair of all Fixed Assets at the mine site. This role involves planning, coordination, and supervision of maintenance activities to ensure the safe and reliable operation of fixed assets, compliance with maintenance schedules, and adherence to safety standards.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager on plans and schedules for fixed plant equipment (e.g., crushers, conveyors, pumps)
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize equipment performance and reduce downtime
- Coordinate maintenance work to align with production and equipment availability
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure regulatory compliance
- Investigate incidents, implement corrective actions, and reinforce safety culture
- Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety issues
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems
- Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment
- Ensure parts and materials are available to reduce downtime
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
- Prepare reports on equipment performance, downtime, costs, and inventory
- Provide maintenance updates to management
- Identify training needs and support development of team skills
- Stay current on industry best practices and emerging technologies
- Support maintenance budgeting, cost estimation, and controls
- Red Seal in a mechanical trade or related education (preferred)
- 7+ years in fixed equipment maintenance, including 4+ years in a supervisory role- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Proven leadership and problem-solving skills
- Familiar with safety regulations and environmental compliance
- Proficient with CMMS (Pronto) and computer applications
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills
We offer a competitive starting salary range of $120,000 - $128,000/year based on experience and qualifications. Annual discretionary short term incentive award at a percentage of base salary, rewarding exceptional contributions to team and company success.
