SaskEnergy is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team. The Financial Reporting Manager manages the financial statement preparation and reporting process for the Corporation and its wholly owned subsidiaries, while concurrently embedding sound internal controls and good governance practices to ensure that financial reporting is in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and regulatory and legislative requirements. This position collaborates and benchmarks with other Crown Corporations held by Crown Investments Corporation (CIC). This position provides accounting expertise and value-added decision-making support to peers in respect to new business and the selection of accounting policy.
Position Details

Key Accountabilities
•Manage the preparation of audited financial statements for the corporation and its subsidiaries.
•Provide guidance, expertise and recommendations on financial and accounting matters to other accounting managers to ensure working papers are integrated with and support required disclosures.
•Manage the preparation and documentation of internal controls and processes relating to financial reporting, ensuring that documentation of internal controls is accurate, efficient and effective and meets the certification requirements as established by Crown Investments Corporation.
•Participate in the planning, design and implementation of changes to systems, processes and internal controls as a result of changing business needs to achieve the Corporate strategic financial direction.
•Research and determine the impact of new and complex accounting concepts as they relate to subsidiary and consolidated reporting.
•Provide leadership, expertise, and guidance to others within the department in the interpretation of accounting standards and implementation of accounting policies and processes.
•Monitor developments in accounting standards with a particular focus on disclosure requirements and financial statement presentation.
•Manage and provide leadership to assigned staff for business development activities, ensuring the quality and efficiency of the work performed.
•Other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
•Degree in Business Administration or Commerce with a professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA).
•Ten (10) years of experience in financial accounting, financial management and project management.
•Ability to coach and mentor employees while building and maintaining effective relationships and empowering team members to succeed.
•Ability to foster a culture focused on innovation and teamwork.
•Excellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skills.
A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered.
Additional Information
•Travel away from bid headquarters may be required on occasion.
•A Class 5 Driver’s License is required.
