POSITION PURPOSE
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this role is accountable for the accounting operations, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards .

Position Responsibilities
• Manage and ensure all employees are working in compliance with all Pinto Valley Mine and MSHA safety guidelines and procedures.
• Manage and ensure all employees and contractors are working in compliance with all Pinto Valley Mine standard operating procedures.
• Ensure that all employees and contractors are certified to execute the tasks/jobs they are assigned.
• Behave in a way that demonstrates support of Capstone’s Vision and Values: Accountability, Caring, Excellence, Safety.
• Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
• Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures. Understand all accounting policies and ensure their compliance.
• Ensure documentation, training and monitoring of internal controls.
• Lead Internal and External Audit engagements, ensuring controls are in place to safeguard the company’s assets.
• Oversee the accounting operations to issue complete financial records in timely manner and to fulfil all other reporting requirements
• Participate in the annual budget process.
• Manage month-end costs reporting process, including costs variance analysis. Interpret and apply key financial indicators to make better business decisions, using data to improve performance.
• Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
• Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Supervise Accounts Payable and Payroll functions.
• Lead, train, and mentor employees to ensure they work safely, efficiently, and accurately.
• Bank account signatory management, and oversee bank transactions and account reconciliations.
• Ensure all payments are processed in accordance with company standard terms and conditions.
• Review and maintain the business processes and workflows associated with the ERP system.
• Establish and maintain strong, collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Responsible for but not limited to all tasks/duties assigned or required.
Position Requirements
Knowledge
• Professional Accounting Designation such as CPA or Equivalent.
• At least 10 years' work experience, with minimum 5 years in a similar capacity.
• Public accounting experience preferred.
• Minimum 5 years' mining experience - thorough understanding of mining terminology.
• Demonstrated strategic leadership ability.
• Proficiency with SAP, Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
• Significant exposure to all accounting, tax, and treasury functions.
• Significant experience in IFRS financial reporting.
