York Water is seeking a Filter Plant Technician to operate our Filter Plant and Raw Water Pumping Station, ensuring the consistent delivery of safe, high-quality water to our community. What You’ll Do:

As a Filter Plant Technician, you will:

•

Anticipate and adjust plant operations based on weather, water supply, and consumption needs.

•

Monitor water conditions and make necessary adjustments to treatment processes, including managing changes in acidity, turbidity, residual chlorine, and other factors.

•

Perform routine physical, chemical, and microbiological tests to maintain water quality standards.

•

Operate and maintain filters, pumps, chemical feeders, and SCADA equipment.

•

Manage chemical feeding, deliveries, and storage, ensuring proper handling and line maintenance.

•

Keep accurate records and logs of operations and adjustments.

•

Conduct light maintenance tasks and assist maintenance personnel as needed.

•

Respond to plant and system emergencies following Standard Operating Procedures.

•

Dispatch service personnel during non-office hours and respond to customer calls with professionalism and courtesy.

•

Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in work areas and equipment.

•

Assist with plant tours and Open House events.
