Georgia Western is searching for a Field Service Pipeline Technician (Oil and Gas) to facilitate both current and future projects within the oil/gas industry.
- Follow safe work practices at the customer sites and in the shop.
- Wear appropriate PPE for task being performed.
- Ability to travel to various customer sites, often including overnight stay depending on job scope – a daily per diem is provided along with $5/hr field pay on all jobs that require overnight stay.
- Perform preventive pipeline and compressor station maintenance along with other tasks assigned.
- Interface with customers, contractors, sales staff, account managers, and operations as needed.
- Operation and maintenance of various types of equipment including, but not limited to, crane truck, hytorc, flange spreaders, dial calipers, feeler gauges, torque wrench, hand and pneumatic tools etc.
- Perform pipeline related maintenance including, but not limited to, actuator installation, stainless steel tube bending, setting mechanical stops, greasing valves, installing valves, troubleshooting, taking measurements etc.
- Operate, service, wash, and ensure proper maintenance and security for Company vehicle and other property for which responsible.
This position may be exposed to a variety of conditions including weather, confined spaces, and loud noises.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to obtain DOT card.
- 3+ years of relevant experience – strong mechanical background, safety orientated, willingness to learn, self-driven, positive, team player.- Ability to regularly bend, stoop, move from ground level to higher levels, raise/lift from ground level and lift up to 50 lbs., manually transport a load up to 75 lbs., apply up to 100-ft/lbs.
- Effective written and verbal communication interpersonal skills to work in a collaborative team environment that includes.
