In this role the Field Service Engineer-Electrical will be responsible for assisting internal technicians, end-customers, and OEM's in advanced troubleshooting, failure analysis, warranty, start-ups and on-site training, as required to meet the customers' needs.
- In addition to commissioning and new product support, this position will provide advanced technical support/resolution to end-customers focusing on VFDs, generators, signals, controls, and related electrical systems
- Develop scope of work to be executed by Field Service Technician
- Provide troubleshooting direction to Field Service Technicians
- Confidently handle escalations and interface with other products outside of their core area
- Act as interface between customer and the business
- Perform duties in compliance with all applicable departmental and divisional quality procedures and work instructions.
- Identify and report all customer quality or compliance concerns immediately to the organization
- Leverage the latest technology and tools (e.g. predictive analytics and myPlant) to identify and execute proactive maintenance interventions
- Submit detailed reports concerning inspections, service work, failure analysis, and regional activities.
- Support Root Cause Analyses and site investigations of equipment issues/failures and present findings to the channels and customers.
- Take ownership of service cases either remotely or on-site and bring them to final resolution. Involve/escalate cases as needed with limited or no supervision.
- Communicate fleet and product issues to the engineering teams, commercial teams and product line managers to identify new opportunities.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college (or a High School Diploma with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a support or maintenance engineering position)
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience servicing and troubleshooting internal combustion engines, frac, and/or power generation equipment
- 2+ year Field experience on advanced troubleshooting- Legal authorization to work in the U.S without Visa sponsorship
- Strong computer and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with customer, peers, team members
- Ability to work across organizational boundaries and to work in cross-functional and cross-regional teams
- Demonstrated solid communicator - written and oral
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Power Point software
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
- Live in the Midland/ Odessa area or willing to move there
