We are seeking a hands-on, safety-focused Field Service Engineer to join our growing wind services. This role is ideal for individuals who are mechanically and electrically inclined, thrive in field-based environments, and are eager to contribute to clean energy solutions.
As a Field Service Engineer, you will travel to wind farm sites across the U.S. to perform inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on wind turbines and related systems. You will work at heights, climb towers, and interface directly with customers to ensure equipment reliability and performance.
- Conduct field service operations including installation, maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting of wind turbine systems and subcomponents.
- Perform up-tower and ground-level diagnostics on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components.
- Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders to accurately resolve system issues.
- Document service work, findings, and recommendations in detailed technical reports.
- Communicate effectively with customers, site managers, and internal teams.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by reporting recurring issues and suggesting design or process enhancements.
- Follow all company and industry safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, PPE, and fall protection protocols.
- Travel to various wind farm locations across the U.S. (up to 80% travel required).
- Work in varying environmental conditions, including confined spaces and elevated platforms up to 280 feet.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school in electronics/electro-mechanical discipline.
- 1–3 years of field service, customer support, or hands-on experience in a wind energy, heavy equipment, or industrial service environment.
- Experience in wind turbine maintenance, blade inspections, or troubleshooting is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with mechanical/electrical control systems,
- Understanding of safety regulations in field service/wind energy environments.
- Basic troubleshooting techniques in repairing complex microprocessor-controlled electromechanical systems.
