The Field Manager is responsible for helping their sites achieve safety and contractual performance obligations for our customers. This position will assist with keeping our sites safely operating at optimum with troubleshooting, campaigns, initiatives, quality & maintenance checks, and OJT training of technicians.
The Field Managers shall know all aspects of safety in the above-mentioned activities. In this position you shall have knowledge and experience with Lock Out Tag Out, generating asset functionality, maintenance, and troubleshooting renewable energy generating assets.
As the Field Manager your responsibilities include:
Ø Oversee technician hiring, time off approval, timecard approval, and career development.
Ø Identify & close Tech training and skill needs - cross training weaknesses with stronger techs, when possible, to build core strengths.
Ø Train and mentor developing technicians in electrical safety and proper maintenance of equipment.
Ø Support technicians and assist with project management at site
Ø Interface and communicate effectively with site leaders, teams and customers.
Ø Assist customer with annual budgeting for improvements, repairs, campaigns
Ø Attend customers monthly / weekly performance calls
Ø Provide monthly plant summaries to performance engineering for reporting
Ø Schedule & plan work to minimize customer losses and/or ensure team safety
Ø Assist with customer budgeting and estimates for resolution of site issues, improvements, and campaigns
Ø Develop Succession Planning for site technician teams
Ø Oversee work schedules to ensure technician recovery time and within overtime allowances.
Ø Manage CMMS Work Order reviews for record accuracy and billing when out of scope.
Ø Utilize CMMS to track work, inspections, and schedules
Ø Work with Leadership to identify business inefficiencies, processes, and gaps that can be improved on.

Ø Lead and or assist with troubleshooting, diagnosis, for root cause remedy & repair of offline turbines to return to service
Ø Identify turbine performance issues and develop plans to remedy ideally during scheduled maintenance.
Ø Ensure all equipment is operating as designed with only customer / engineering approved solutions, software, hardware, and wiring.
Ø Perform quality checks of work performed to ensure technicians and contractors are performing quality work.
Ø Assist other contractors when needed to coordinate wind turbine large correctives.
Ø Be a safety advocate and utilize stop work when needed
Ø Work with customers to schedule and coordinate equipment outages
Ø Maintain a strong safety mindset and support the EHS culture
Ø Follow all NERC, NFPA70E, company & customer policies and other applicable regulations
Ø Document all service activity and parts consumptions using digital reporting systems.
Ø 2+ years of hands-on experience in Energy Generation, and Leadership.
Ø Renewable Energy High Voltage, Wind, PV, Battery platform experience preferred.
Ø Ability to operate test equipment needed for the project.
Ø Ability to lead projects, assign tasks, prioritize activities and interface with customers.
Ø Ability to determine and interpret customer’s requirements and provide final deliverables including as built prints and all test results meeting specified requirements
Ø Ability to understand manufactures’ literature to facilitate testing.
Ø Knowledge of OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), NERC, NFPA70E, varying electric codes, NETA requirements, IEEE standards and IEC standards
Ø Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Ø Able to work overtime and travel as needed for work or training.
Ø Able to climb ladders, stand for extended periods, able to lift 50 lbs.
Ø Must have a valid driver's license and currently have and be able to maintain a good driving record.
This role requires regular work at heights, confined spaces, physical stamina, and the ability to work a rotational on call schedule. Applicants must adhere to site safety practices and perform in variable outdoor environments.
