Position Summary
The Field Facilities Engineer will be located at the Moss Creek office and will report to the Infrastructure Engineering Manager. The incumbent will provide a range of engineering, technical and operational support to the field organization, as well as work closely with the Operations Manager. He/she will deliver practical technical and coordination support regarding all oil, gas and water processing equipment and full field gathering infrastructure. This includes system design, maintenance, equipment operating practice, equipment maintenance problems and fault finding. In additional to providing support to ongoing production operations, he/she will also provide hands-on functional and technical expertise, troubleshooting, system performance testing and commissioning to the field organization in support of new projects. An important part of the role will be to provide practical, hands-on mentoring and training of field staff covering principles of operation and equipment functioning.
Success will be measured by the gains in equipment reliability and associated uptime performance, the reductions in equipment integrity issues, improvement in field personnel competency in operating and maintaining equipment and lower operating expense.
Job Requirements/Responsibilities
•Expert knowledge of oil and gas processing facilities and support infrastructure including oil, gas and water gathering systems, produced water disposal systems and electrical systems; proven capability to provide practical designs and design support for facility and field infrastructure upgrades that improve equipment and system operation, reliability, integrity and longevity.
•Capable of preparing accurate AFEs for approval to execute designs, as needed.
•Work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure short-term solutions are in place to allow the implementation of effective life of field improvements.
•Liaison between Field Operation and Houston-based engineering; provide data and updates to help ensure smooth communication to meet Company goals.
•Provide daily and as needed technical advice and support to each of the field teams based on operating and integrity priorities.
•Create opportunities to enhance the Operators’ and Operations Technicians’ understanding of facility equipment functioning and operation.
•Coordinate specific upgrade projects when necessary and where significant technical direction is required.
•Strong technical knowledge of oil field measurement systems including oil, gas and water metering devices; knowledge of well testing requirements and well test based allocation systems.
•Experience with H2S processing systems, including design options and system performance validation.
•Provide technical oversight of chemical treatment program to validate its effectiveness and efficiency through various assessments.
•Lead and/or coordinate Root Cause Failure Analysis, Process Hazard Analysis / Process Safety and general risk assessment; ensure the technical component of HSE incident investigations is conducted systematically, covered thoroughly and documented with supporting evidence.
•Aid in developing opportunities to reduce Lease Operating Expense thru design, process and execution of Field Operations.
•Capable of field testing of equipment where necessary to establish a clear understanding of equipment and process effectiveness while providing facts based on measurement data.
•Capable of providing training and hands-on instruction covering oil field equipment function and operation.
•Knowledge of pressure vessel repairs and procedures (this includes vessel condition assessment, recommendations and follow up repair quality control).
•Coordinate the MOC process which manages changes to equipment/systems, safety system settings and operating limits to ensure unauthorized changes/upgrades are not permitted; utilize the MOC process to gain alignment and a clear understanding of the changes across the engineering and field teams; help ensure that the implementation in the Field Operations is as intended and complete.
•Develop field procedures to build consistency in how things are managed, operated and maintained correctly.
•Coordinate and assist in equipment data gathering to ensure the CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) contains ‘as-built’ technical and engineering data that can be used effectively.

•Solid understanding of production and SWD facilities equipment and processing systems.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in a team-oriented organization.
•Ability to work closely with Field Supervisors, Operations Technicians, and other technicians.
•Knowledgeable of facility design, standards, and codes, as well as pragmatic knowledge of equipment and systems improvement.
•Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision—i.e., a self-starter who is highly self-directed.
•Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
•Legally authorized to work in the United States
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other technical field
•7+ years of direct and broad experience in facilities engineering support for oil field operations
Preferred Qualifications
•10+ years of field engineering and operations support experience within the upstream oil and gas industry including design, hands-on equipment performance testing, equipment start-up and adjustment.
•Experience with risk management and safe work practices.
•Experience with H2S treatment process systems and chemical programs for surface facilities.
