JOB REQUIREMENTS: POSITION PURPOSE The Experienced Electrical Engineer -
Gas and Electric Service and New Development Engineering will work
within a diverse team of individuals both in the office and in the field
to deliver solutions for existing and new customers' energy needs in
connecting to Madison Gas and Electric Company's (MGE) nationally
ranked gas and electric grids while leveraging existing and emerging
Technologies. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assists In Reviewing Systems
to interconnect large-scale customer-owned Distributed Energy Resources
(DERs) into the distribution grid. Provide technical expertise for
interconnection projects of increasing scope and complexity to ensure
adherence to interconnection standards and utility best practices for
safe and effective interconnection to the utility grid. Performs the
necessary engineering and design for overhead, underground, and network
for new customer development projects. Ensure that key regulatory
interconnection standards related to timelines and communications, among
other criteria, are achieved. Collaborate with other team engineers to
support internal and external project stakeholders throughout the DER
interconnection process. Works closely with other MGE departments and
outside entities to plan, design, schedule, and coordinate Company
projects according to customer schedules. Reviews and finds solutions
for new distribution extensions and service laterals to serve new
commercial customers in accordance with filed extension rules. Maintains
knowledge of appropriate safety codes (NESC and Wisconsin Administrative
Code), governmental codes such as PSCW requirements, Company rules and
regulations, and Company construction standards. Reviews plans and

Education and Experience Bachelor of Science in electrical, civil
engineering, or related engineering field required. 3+ years in electric
Design, Distribution, Or Civil Engineering Experience Is Preferred.
Interest in working toward designation as a Professional Engineer in the
state of Wisconsin is preferred. Knowledge and Skills Valid State of
Wisconsin driver's license. Strong knowledge of electricity and
electrical utility systems. Strong time and project management skills
with the ability to plan, organize, and control multiple projects
simultaneously while adapting to changing construction schedules and
customer requirements. Strong communication and relationship-building
skills with internal and external stakeholders. Various training in
areas such as the State of Wisconsin Electrical Code, customer
