Job Summary
Executive Assistant provides high-level administrative support for one or more of the company's executives. This position requires discretion, confidentiality, a good understanding of technical and business vocabulary, and a detailed knowledge of Alliant Energy's operations, procedures, and people. This role gathers, compiles, verifies, and analyzes information for the executive's use in documents such as memos, letters, reports, speeches, presentations, and news releases. This position facilitates smooth communications between the executive and coworkers, and between the executive and external parties such as media, customers, and the public.
- Relieves the executive and business group of advanced administrative detail to provide business unit effectiveness and efficiency to leverage the executive’s time.
- Processes confidential information and documents and handles confidential matters with discretion. Makes decisions using initiative and judgment for matters requiring attention in the absence of the executive to ensure the correct people are involved to resolve the situation.
- Uses moderately complex computer applications to develop and maintain documents, forms, spreadsheets, charts, graphics, presentations, and databases.
- Corresponds and maintains positive and effective relationships with internal personnel, outside agencies, vendors, and other organizations.
- Coordinates business travel arrangements, including itinerary, registration, transportation, and accommodations.
- Arranges and coordinates internal and external meetings – including those of a sensitive nature and involving executive level participants – including meeting materials and facility, equipment, and technology arrangements.
- Assists executive and business group to achieve company financial goals by scrutinizing expenditures for errors and/or identifying avenues to reduce expenses.
- Processes expense reports and various financial reports for the executive.
- May provide support of activities relating to the Board of Directors.
- May receive and handle internal and external concerns that have reached the executive level.
- Engages in other duties as needed that support Alliant Energy’s Values and helps deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.
- Associate Degree Emphasis in word processing, clerical support, administrative support or related area Preferred
- 5 years of related experience and 3 years supporting multiple business groups, supervisors, or executives
- Demonstrated advanced proficiency in the use of office equipment and computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Intermediate to advanced knowledge of internet web browsers. Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint preferred. Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat (PDF) software preferred.

- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization.
- Advanced proficiency in grammar, spelling, punctuation, proofreading.

This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
