Tundra has an opportunity for an Environmental Student for the summer of 2026 (May–August) based out of our Virden, Manitoba office.
- Conduct inspections of Tundra’s remedial tile systems, including water analysis, small repairs, general site upkeep, reporting, and assisting with project coordination
- Perform crop inspections, including crop scouting and vegetation assessments
- Coordinate and supervise various rehabilitation projects, including weed and vegetation control, lease clean-up, checking fences, and flagging off lease boundaries
- Fly and collect drone RGB and NIR aerial imagery
- Process and interpolate data from drone images and enter into ArcMap
- Review Tundra’s Control Points in all areas of operation, adding or adjusting points as necessary and updating the online database
- Provide administrative support, including processing invoices, cost tracking, data management, clearance submissions, hard filing, and ArcMap updates
- Other duties as assigned
- Must be enrolled in post-secondary education, preferably in Environmental Science/Studies or Land and Water Management, working toward a degree or diploma
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Drone use experience and knowledge (asset)
- Ability to work safely, recognize potential hazards, and adhere to Tundra’s Safety and Loss Control Program and policies
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills and reliability
- Excellent judgment with a focus on safety
- Willingness to achieve certifications in:
- H2S Alive
- First Aid/CPR
- ATV Safety
- WHMIS
- TDG
- This position is primarily field-based with some office work
- Safety-sensitive position requiring adherence to all safety requirements
