WestLand is adding a full-time Environmental Specialist to support our environmental consulting practice across the Southwest. WestLand specializes in the technical and procedural requirements necessary for compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Clean Water Act, and the Endangered Species Act. Our biological resources practice includes development of natural resource management plans; conducting ecological investigations and base-line studies; and mitigation planning, design, and implementation.
- Developing Environmental planning and permitting compliance documents
- Managing, analyzing, and interpreting data.
- Managing and training field crews including collecting field data, communicating safety protocols, and scheduling field work.
- Conducting field surveys and investigations.
- Keeping up with the latest changes to regulatory policies and best practices.
- Master's degree in environmental science or related field preferred. A bachelor's degree and relevant experience may substitute for an advanced degree.
- Experienced in writing, analyzing, and reviewing technical reports. that may include methods and results of statistical analysis.
- Experienced in managing fieldwork, analysis, and report production.
- Demonstrated knowledge of regulations, guidance, and approaches to environmental analyses relevant to Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and National Environmental Policy Act.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook
- Demonstrated technical writing capabilities
- Demonstrated research capabilities
The wage range for this position is $52,000 - $68,000 annually.
