Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for an Environmental Safety & Health (ES&H) Specialist opportunity in Oak Ridge, TN.
Location: On-site in Oak Ridge, TN
Job Description:
ES&H Representative for Department of Energy Industry construction projects.
Responsibilities include:
•Perform daily ES&H inspections
•Conduct and document daily ES&H briefings (at beginning and end of each work shift) with workers to discuss the day’s tasks, hazards, relevant ES&H topics, and follow up to obtain feedback.
•Maintain documentation of inspections, briefings, and meetings.
•Conduct a weekly safety meeting with workers.
•Ensure workers review and sign off as having read and understood the Activity Hazards Analysis
•Serve as company point of contact for ES&H concerns
•Participate in ES&H related investigations, develop and/or approve corrective actions, and maintain records.
•Review training records and ensure employee training and certifications are current to meet job requirements.
•Maintain Hazardous Material Inventory report (HMIR) and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for products being stored or in use.
•Ensure sub-tier subcontract personnel work safely by coordinating briefings, training, or oversight activities.
Qualifications and Job Requirements:
•Bachelor’s Degree in relevant technical discipline preferred.
•10+ years of experience in ES&H role, DOE experience highly preferred.
•Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) required.
•US Citizenship required.
