The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an
Environmental Engineerto join our
Health, Safety, Environment, and RiskDepartment.
This is a permanent position working a Monday to Friday schedule from the St. John’s Office with travel to both our Voisey’s Bay and Long Harbour sites.
As an Environmental Engineer, you will be responsible for providing professional environmental engineering for multi-disciplinary and varied projects to ensure the protection of the environment from air, water and soil pollution. Your experience, knowledge, and skills will allow you to provide advice and recommendations relevant to pollution control, researching, developing and administering environmental legislation, preparing certificates of approvals for industrial operations, inspecting industrial operations, municipal water and wastewater infrastructure and developing monitoring programs. You will also develop solutions to problems that arise in the company’s efforts to consistently achieve and maintain compliance. You’ll act as and/or support environment lead(s) on North Atlantic Projects, or other larger projects with more complex permitting requirements, to coordinate and deliver environmental components in adherence to the Project Delivery System (PDS) or other applicable system.

At Long Harbour, we operate a state-of-the-art processing plant, which refines nickel concentrate from the Voisey's Bay mine into finished nickel, copper, and cobalt products. This plant is a cornerstone of our commitment to value-added processing in Canada. Meanwhile, the Voisey's Bay mine, located in Labrador, is one of the world's most substantial nickel deposits. It provides high-quality nickel, copper, and cobalt, essential for the 21 st century economy.
