The work location is in Nunavik and the normal work schedule is on a 4-week paid rotation, i.e. 2 weeks worked (77 hours per week, 7 days per week) followed by 2 weeks off.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the ESG Manager, the Environmental Coordinator's main duties are to:
•Apply the various legal requirements and environmental standards relating to the management of our activities, operations and services of the organization and ensure their regulatory compliance.
•Conduct inspections of exploration, construction, operations and restoration sites.
•Identify and evaluate problems, irregularities, non-conformities and potential environmental impacts of our activities, propose mitigation and corrective measures, follow up and issue recommendations.
•Prepare and submit mandatory reports and declarations to government bodies and stakeholders (SENV, GIGU, RDOCECA, etc.).
•Support and monitor the planning of the environmental monitoring program.
•Manage, audit and update environmental procedures.
•Prepare weekly and monthly reports on departmental activities for internal and external communication.
•Prepare documentation and coordinate environmental management training for mining personnel and subcontractors.
•Supervise a team of technicians and the technical coordinator.
•Coordinate and follow up on work carried out by external consultants and other research partners.
•Support the permit application team.
•Any other related tasks requested by the supervisor.
Qualifications
•University degree in environment, or other relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.
•Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position in the mining or industrial sector.
•Possess the technical, academic and/or professional skills required to carry out advanced environmental monitoring and control.
•Proficiency in MS Office software.
•Bilingualism (spoken and written);
•Assets: Good writing skills, knowledge of reporting systems SENV, GIGU, RDOCECA.
•Experience in a northern environment an asset
