About This Job

We are seeking a motivated Construction Project Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy civil construction and DOT (Department of Transportation) scope of work, with experience on projects valued over $10 million. This role is pivotal in ensuring successful project execution, from planning through completion, while working closely with Project Managers, superintendents, and field teams.

This individual will preferably be high on initiative and looking to grow their career at an accelerated pace as we grow our company.

Key Responsibilities

•

Assist in planning and coordinating construction activities to ensure project quality, timelines, and budget requirements are met.

•

Support the Project Manager with the preparation of project schedules, submittals, RFIs, and daily reports.

•

Review construction drawings, specifications, and contracts to ensure accuracy and feasibility.

•

Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site personnel to address any issues or changes in project scope.

•

Monitor progress and report on project status, including identifying potential risks and proposing mitigation strategies.

•

Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards on all assigned projects.

•

Manage project documentation and maintain accurate records for quality assurance and progress tracking.

Qualifications

•

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.

•

4+ years of relevant experience in heavy civil construction, preferably with DOT or public infrastructure projects.

•

Experience with project values of $10 million or more.

•

Proficiency in project management software (e.g., HCSS, Primavera or similar, Bluebeam).

•

Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.

•

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

•

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work effectively in a team setting.
