As an
Enterprise Architect
at ENMAX, you will help shape the long-term direction of our technology landscape. This strategic, hands-on role bridges enterprise architecture and business planning, providing guidance that enables cost-effective growth, strengthens risk posture, and supports regulatory agility.
You won’t be managing a team, but you will be hired at a management level and expected to lead through influence, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic governance. This role is part of a modern, evolving EA mandate that focuses on business outcomes and future-ready operations.
Responsibilities•Translate enterprise goals into actionable artifacts like capability maps, roadmaps, and target state architectures
•Support business investment planning, prioritization, and enterprise-wide initiative shaping
•Promote technology standardization and platform reuse across the organization
•Lead development of reference architectures, standards, and solution reviews
•Embed security, risk, and compliance into architectural decisions
•Provide architectural oversight to ensure sustainable, secure, and scalable implementations
•Guide platform simplification, system consolidation, and modernization efforts
•Apply financial acumen to ensure architectural decisions support cost efficiency and value delivery
•Assess emerging technologies for strategic fit and feasibility
•Lead or support pilots and proofs of concept that drive purposeful innovation
•Champion enterprise capabilities that accelerate delivery and scalability
•Design architectures that enable agility and compliance in regulated, evolving market environments.
•Contribute to the design of resilient systems that support business continuity, recovery, and operational readiness.
Education
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, System Analysis, or a related field—or equivalent work experience.
Qualifications
•10+ years of progressive IT and business/industry experience, including at least 5 years in architecture design, systems lifecycle planning, and cloud/hybrid solution deployment.
•Experience working as an Enterprise Architect for 2+ years in the energy industry (utilities industry experience considered an asset)
•Experience across multiple, diverse technologies, platforms, and processing environments.
•Experience in regulated, asset-intensive industries such as utilities, energy, or public sector is a strong asset
•Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior business and technical stakeholders.
•Certifications such as TOGAF, CGEIT, COBIT, ITIL, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or AWS Solutions Architect – Professional are considered an assets.

This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) workforce with office workspace located at ENMAX Place
(141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB)
. You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
