Are you a seasoned enterprise architect who thrives at the intersection of business strategy and technology direction?

We're seeking someone who brings deep architecture experience, strong business acumen, and a track record of aligning enterprise goals with technology strategies. You’ve rolled up your sleeves in IT environments and understand the realities of technology implementation—bringing credibility and pragmatism to strategic planning. If you’re skilled at shaping future-state visions, guiding high-impact initiatives, and influencing across business and IT—without getting lost in the weeds of solution delivery—this is the role for you.

As an Enterprise Architect at ENMAX, you will help shape the long-term direction of our technology landscape. This strategic, hands-on role bridges enterprise architecture and business planning, providing guidance that enables cost-effective growth, strengthens risk posture, and supports regulatory agility.

You won’t be managing a team, but you will be hired at a management level and expected to lead through influence, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic governance. This role is part of a modern, evolving EA mandate that focuses on business outcomes and future-ready operations.

Responsibilities

Translate enterprise goals into actionable artifacts like capability maps, roadmaps, and target state architectures
Support business investment planning, prioritization, and enterprise-wide initiative shaping
Promote technology standardization and platform reuse across the organization
Lead development of reference architectures, standards, and solution reviews
Embed security, risk, and compliance into architectural decisions
Provide architectural oversight to ensure sustainable, secure, and scalable implementations
Guide platform simplification, system consolidation, and modernization efforts
Apply financial acumen to ensure architectural decisions support cost efficiency and value delivery
Assess emerging technologies for strategic fit and feasibility
Lead or support pilots and proofs of concept that drive purposeful innovation
Champion enterprise capabilities that accelerate delivery and scalability
Design architectures that enable agility and compliance in regulated, evolving market environments.
Contribute to the design of resilient systems that support business continuity, recovery, and operational readiness.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, System Analysis, or a related field—or equivalent work experience.

Qualifications

10+ years of progressive IT and business/industry experience, including at least 5 years in architecture design, systems lifecycle planning, and cloud/hybrid solution deployment.
Experience working as an Enterprise Architect for 2+ years in the energy industry (utilities industry experience considered an asset)
Experience across multiple, diverse technologies, platforms, and processing environments.
Experience in regulated, asset-intensive industries such as utilities, energy, or public sector is a strong asset
Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior business and technical stakeholders.
Certifications such as TOGAF, CGEIT, COBIT, ITIL, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or AWS Solutions Architect – Professional are considered an assets.

You Excel At

Navigating both strategic and hands-on technical challenges
Communicating clearly with business and technical stakeholders alike
Thinking pragmatically while designing for the future
Driving consensus, alignment, and collaboration across teams
Balancing innovation with operational realities
