The Engineering Intern will contribute to the safe and efficient operation of the power plant and its associated equipment and systems. Under the guidance of department managers, the intern will also assist with a variety of projects, gaining hands-on experience in plant operations and engineering support.
Physical requirements include the possibility of standing on feet for extended periods of time, requiring stair and ladder climbing and lifting up to 50 pounds. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g. hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, etc.).
All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
Normal working hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Power plant environment requiring protective clothing and equipment. Extended hours may be required during project phasing and project specific requirements.
The hourly rate of pay will be $20.00 per hour.
We are accepting applications from current students enrolled in an Engineering program. Educational concentration in power generation systems and equipment, including operational theory and engineering safety is desired.
