Engineering Analyst/Financial Analyst – Financial Evaluation & Analysis

Job Summary

Southern Power’s Financial Evaluation & Analysis organization is part of Southern Power Finance. This position is accountable for performing financial analysis, financial model development, risk/return analysis, and generation business case development. This position also supports the structuring and implementation of tax equity transactions for renewable assets. These activities are done in support of Southern Power Company’s (SPC) strategic growth initiatives and wholesale marketing efforts. This position is located in Birmingham, Alabama, in the Energy Center at the Colonnade.

The Successful Candidate Will Have The Opportunity To Gain Expertise In (a) Financial Valuation Of Renewable And Gas Projects, Including The Application Of Relevant Accounting Concepts, (b) Various Planning And Forecasting Functions Of The Utility Industry, And (c) The Structure Of Power Markets Across The U.S. The Candidate Will Support The Team By Developing Acquisition And Development Business Cases.
