PEER Consultants, P.C., a purpose-driven environmental and engineering consulting firm, is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Wastewater Project Manager to lead the planning, design, and execution of innovative wastewater infrastructure projects.
In this pivotal role, you'll help shape critical infrastructure—from large wastewater treatment plants to complex pump station systems—while guiding cross-functional teams and collaborating directly with clients and stakeholders. * Oversee full project life cycles: scope, budget, staffing, and schedules.
* Lead or support technical design for wastewater infrastructure projects.
* Manage engineering tasks: calculations, equipment specs, design drawings, and technical reports.
* Guide feasibility studies and deliver compelling client presentations.
* Ensure QA/QC and regulatory compliance, including permitting.
* Collaborate closely with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
* Lead and mentor a team of engineers, designers, and technical staff.
* Participate in business development and proposal preparation.
* Represent PEER in professional organizations through leadership and presentations.
* A bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, environmental, or related field required) is required.
* Minimum 10 years of experience in wastewater project management.
* Professional Engineer (PE) license in D.C. or ability to obtain within 6 months.
* Demonstrated leadership in managing complex infrastructure projects.
* Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office; AutoCAD/GIS experience is a plus.
* Passion for team collaboration and client service.
* Personal smartphone and willingness to visit active project sites.

This role offers a dynamic blend of office and field work:
* Office Environment: Most responsibilities are carried out in a climate-controlled office setting, with no known environmental hazards.
* Field Work: Occasional visits to construction sites are required. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn in accordance with safety standards.
* Physical Requirements: The role may occasionally involve lifting and carrying items such as laptops, documents, and small equipment (up to 50 lbs). Field work includes standing and walking, while most office tasks can be performed seated.
