Nordic Minesteel Technologies (NMT) is currently seeking an Intermediate Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will bring 3-5 years of engineering experience along with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognized institution. This role requires strong technical expertise, including proficiency with SolidWorks, the ability to perform FEA analysis, and excellent engineering math and hand-calculation skills. - Develop detailed 3D models, assemblies and drawings in SolidWorks.
- Preform advanced FEA analyses and validate results with hand calculations.
- Conduct stress, thermal, fatigue and tolerance analyses to support design integrity.
- Prepare engineering reports documenting assumptions, methods, results and recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, quality, operations) to ensure designs are feasible and cost effective.
- Participate in design reviews, presenting technical findings and defending engieering decisions.
- Support prototype builds, testing and troubleshooting activities.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards and safety requirements.
- Provide guidance to junior engineers or technical staff as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BEng, BASc, or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Registered as, or eligible to register as, an Engineer-In-Training (EIT) with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO); progress toward PEng. designation is preferred.
- 3-5 years experience of relevant engineering experience in mechanical design and analysis.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, including parametric modeling and drawing preparation.
- Demonstrated experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools and techniques.
- Strong capability in performing detailed hand calculations for stress, strain and load analysis.
- Excellent program-solving, mathematical, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
- Demonstrate a high level of integrity and trust.
- Demonstrate composure under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Must have the ability to use and wear personal protective equipment as required.
