Wire-Bond is seeking an entry-level Engineer 1, which will be responsible for assisting with plant-wide improvements with efficiency and productivity. This is a non-exempt position and will be spending most of the time in a manufacturing environment.
- Responsible for the setup and operation of manual mills, lathes, grinders and other machine shop equipment
- Assist with research, design and concept development
- Assist with installation of new processes and improve current processes with existing machinery and Repair and fabricate machine components
- Sketch conceptual designs and transfer to our AutoCAD Designer for development of mechanical drawings
- Ability to provide technical support and training for production employees after project completion
- Work in a safe and consistent manner
- All other duties assigned by Management
- Advanced math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering data.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team
- Must be Detail oriented, quality conscious, reliable and self-motivated
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, components, and design principles
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- High School Diploma or GED required, certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is a definite plus
- 2 Years of machining, electrical wiring and mechanical assembly experience (Preferred)
- 2 Years reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings (Preferred)
- Pre-employment drug screen and background check will be required as a condition of employment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs several times during a shift
- Must be able to meet physical demands including standing for extend periods, walking, bending, kneeling and reaching, up to 8 - 10 hours a day
