About the role

We are currently seeking a Blasting Engineer role in an open-cut coal mine for one of our customers’ sites in Indonesia. The main role of this position is to provide technical services, initiatives and support to sales of Orica products and services in alignment with the site business plan. This position will report to the Senior Technical Services Engineer and will work on a 6 weeks on & 2 weeks off roster

What you will be doing

- Complying with Orica's safety policies and standards

- Designing blast for a sustainable future and forecasting

- Participating in risk assessments, procedure development and training material for technical services

- Participating in technical incident investigations

- Participating in new products, services, and technology introduction on the site

- Implementing methodologies of continually improving blasting performance as required

- Providing effective and efficient communications with Orica employees and customers as needed

What you will bring

- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Geology Engineering

- Having 3-5 years of experience in mining and/or drill blast

- Able to demonstrate value-selling services

- Experience in blasting applications

- Having a critical information-seeking attitude and showing courage in making decisions

- Technical writing and presentation skills with effective verbal communication

- Good understanding of Mining Safety Management System Aspect by always prioritizing Safety Value.
