In addition to exceptional analytical skills, the successful candidates must demonstrate a desire and ability to lead projects and have the potential to advance into a future management position.
The planning of electric generation and natural gas distribution systems begins with an understanding of how and when customers use electricity and natural gas and how their consumption will change over time due to technology, preferences, economics, and demographics. An Energy Forecasting Analyst utilizes advanced econometric modeling and data processing methods to develop granular forecasts of electricity and natural gas consumption over a wide range of weather scenarios. In doing this, an Energy Forecasting Analyst conducts ad hoc analysis and research to demonstrate the reasonableness of forecasts and must be able to develop the reports and written testimony required to support decision-making and regulatory filings.
