Energy Consultant or Resource Efficiency Manager (REM)
This position requires relocation in the area near the US Naval Base at Yokosuka, Japan. Relocation expenses will be paid by Energy Efficiency & Consulting Services, LLC.

Energy Efficiency & Consulting Services, LLC (EECS) is interviewing for open positions for a Resource Efficiency Manager (REM) at the Naval Base at Yokosuka, Japan.
The REM assists the DOD in reducing energy consumption and initiating and evaluating energy projects. The type of equipment that might be analyzed would include chilled water systems, HVAC systems, boilers, air compressors, air handlers, solar, wind turbines, geothermal, cogeneration, and various distribution systems.
· Provide services in support of the energy goals and for reduction of overall utility costs and consumption by reducing energy use intensity by at least 3% per year and water consumption intensity by at least 2% per year
· Use spreadsheets, Advanced Meter Data, utility billing databases, and expertise to Identify and Help to correct anomalies in Facility Energy Use
· Develop an Effective Network of Facility Managers and Building Energy Monitors.
· Optimize Facility Operations to Minimize Utility Costs: The REM shall identify the facilities with the greatest potential for energy cost savings.
· Develop and Sustain an Effective Energy Awareness, Incentive, and Suggestion Program
· Support Utility Demand Reduction to Maximize Cost Avoidance
· Identify Potential Energy Projects, Programs, and Initiatives
· Assist in developing projects such as Microgrids
The successful candidate for this position should possess the ability to develop and assist with the implementation of actions/projects in support of facility maintenance, repair, and construction activities, including providing design review comments; project management support; identification of energy savings projects, construction coordination and oversight; and other support activities to ensure that energy efficiency measures and water conservation measures are incorporated into all actions.

2. Be able to communicate both in verbal and written forms and the ability to utilize Word, Excel spreadsheets, and other basic computer programs.
3. Must be able to pass a security clearance.
5. Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Energy Auditor (CEA), or Professional Engineer (PE) or be able to obtain a CEM or CEA within 8 months of employment. (EECS will fund training and testing.)
6. Minimum of 4 to 8 years’ experience in the energy conservation field.
1. A four-year technical/engineering degree (preferably in mechanical or electrical engineering) and/or a registered Professional Engineer registration with a minimum of 5 years of experience in energy management.
2. A Science, business or related degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience in energy management.
3. A two-year technical degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience in energy management.
4. A non-degreed REM with a minimum of 12 years of experience in energy management.
5. Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Energy Auditor (CEA), or Professional Engineer (PE) along with other energy certifications.
6. Military experience is desirable but not required.
Salary range $90,000 to $120,000 depending upon qualifications and certifications.
