About This Job

Description An Energy Consultant (EC) conducts sales out in the field via face-to-face interactions

. The EC is responsible for establishing contact with existing customers, developing new opportunities, following up on potential leads and closing sales. The EC will monitor industry trends, in order to identify emerging markets and develop plans to utilize those markets to expand revenue. The primary function is to sell solutions-oriented products and services to increase revenue by establishing business relationships with new and existing customers in a specific geographic area.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Conduct inbound/outbound calls and utilize a proactive and consultative sales approach with every customer interaction to uncover sales and service opportunities

- Prepare and present sales proposals to current and prospective customers

- Actively participate in industry organizations to continually build a professional network

- Champion a positive, professional image to create customer goodwill and foster referrals and repeat business

- Establish and leverage relationships with businesses and industry entities such as real estate companies, home builder associations, BNI and other trade organizations to cultivate new business prospects

- Maintain in-depth knowledge of available TGO and CPS products and services, equipment and policies and procedures

- Develop new sales leads by prospecting and pursuing targeted accounts via cold calling and other related activities

- Presenting, promoting and selling products/services to existing and prospective customers

- Maintain relationships with key accounts to ensure continual customer satisfaction

- Participate in trade/consumer shows to cultivate new leads and make productive contact with existing customers

- Retain a Level III knowledge of HVAC systems and competing fuel sources

- Meet or exceed sales quota/goals set forth based on annual and quarterly KPIs

- Enter and manage customer data in Customer Relationship Management (CRM), E-Signature and Operations software programs

- Follow up with new accounts to ensure customer satisfaction and fulfillment of the job.


Skills & Experience

- High School Diploma or equivalent

- 3-5 years outside sales experience required

- Ability to leverage mobile devices and technology including but not limited to: Microsoft Office; knowledge of CRM/Salesforce and E-Signature/ DocuSign a plus

- Gas/Oil Industry knowledge- preferred

- Goal driven

- Excellent selling, communication and negotiation skills

- Self-motivated

- Effective time management

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

This job operates in a professional office and field environment interacting with customers. The employee routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, mobile devices, and phones. The employee will travel 50 to 75 percent of the time. While performing duties in the field the employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions due to weather conditions. Intermittent evening hours and weekends during peak heating season or when working a trade/consumer show.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This is partially a sedentary field role. The employee will travel in a company vehicle up to eight hours per day: multiple stops, in and out of the vehicle, and periodic walking. Employees must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch and stoop in the field as necessary. Employees will view computer/ mobile device screens, paperwork, and e-filing. The employee must occasionally pull, lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications
