Tartan Energy Group currently has an opportunity for an Electronics Testing Tech to join our established directional drilling development team of professionals in Calgary. As the successful candidate you will work closely with other engineers, and designers to deliver timely and technically sound results. A demonstrated ability to work effectively with other team members in a fast-paced business environment is essential.
· Collaborate with directional drilling development team to develop and manufacture MWD/LWD drilling equipment and achieve objectives;
· Assembly, Q/C, and Testing of Electronics PCB and assemblies
· Interface with other departments, engineers, clients and vendors during all phases of projects to ensure a good working interface
· Ensure that the deliverables provided to the project are technically accurate, within scope, budget and schedule, suitable for the intended purpose and in compliance with quality procedures and project plans.
· Rich experience and sensitive knowledge of directional drilling industry demand.
· Experience assisting project engineering leads and managers in project design and execution to meet client schedules.
· Proficient with Electronics Assembly and SMT PCB Assembly.
· Have experience with working with High Temperature Electronics
· Proficient with MS Office software and various engineering software programs
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills both orally and written.
· Responsiveness to quality issues and customer concerns.
· Minimum of 3 years MWD/Oil and gas mechanical manufacturing and design experience is required.
· Education: Electronics Engineering Technologist or Electronics Engineering Degree
· Familiarity with Schematic Design and PCB layout is an asset.
· This position requires a person to sit up to 8 hours per day.
· Up to 25% travel may be required
