We have an immediate opening for an Electronic Tester to join our growing team located in Sugar Land, Texas.
About the role:
•The Electronic Tester role calls for assembling, testing, and troubleshooting electronic assemblies and equipment.
•The candidate should have the ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a team environment.
•This role requires knowledge of the following equipment: digital multi-meter, mill-amp calibrator, decade resistance box, frequency generator, frequency counter, oscilloscope, power supply and high-pot insulation tester.
•Knowledge is also required of anti-static procedures, through-hole and SMT soldering and de-soldering skills, component identification codes, resistor color code, and common component identification codes.
•Applicant shall have or obtain an IPC J-STD-001 certificate.
•The role requires excellent time management, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:
•Be able to remove and replace components on PCB assemblies.
•Perform software / firmware updates assemblies.
•Maintain proprietary Test Fixture assemblies.
•Test, debug and repair PCB assemblies.
•Calibrate, test and perform QC inspection on completed assemblies prior to shipment.
•Reads and follows circuit diagrams, schematics, shop orders, assembly drawings, procedures, samples, or verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed, from supervisor or engineering staff.
•Perform temperature characterization of PCB assemblies by maintaining and operating heat/cool cycling chambers and associated equipment.
•Enter test data into a spreadsheet which calculates the resistor value used to optimize PCB performance and accuracy, keeping record of results.
•Repairs and tests electronic modules and sub-assemblies down to the component level using standard test procedures and schematics.
•Conduct all work duties with safety as top priority.
•Perform quality control function by inspecting and testing incoming raw components or circuit board modules received from vendors to company standards using written procedures or verbal instructions and documenting results.
•Calibrate chambers as necessary.
•Assist production department by testing and repairing returned RMA product.
•Test performance of electromechanical assemblies, using test instruments such as oscilloscopes, electronic voltmeters, or bridges.
•Install electrical or electronic parts and hardware in housings or assemblies, using soldering equipment and hand tools.
•Align, fit, or assemble component parts, using hand or power tools, fixtures, templates, or microscopes.
•Verify part dimensions or clearances to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
Candidate requirements:
•Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year College or Technical School; and six months to one-year related experience and/or training. Extensive experience, in lieu of education can be considered.
•Knowledge and use of the following equipment: digital multi-meter, mill-amp calibrator, decade resistance box, frequency generator, frequency counter, oscilloscope, power supply and high-pot insulation tester.
•Knowledge of anti-static procedures, through-hole and SMT soldering and de-soldering skills, component identification codes, resistor color code, and common component identification codes.
•IPC J-STD-001 certificate is a plus.
•Proficient in verbal and written communication in English language.
•Able to apply concepts such as mathematics including arithmetic, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
•Proficient with Microsoft PC Office suite software.
Job Type and Work location: Full-time, In person
Expected hours: 40 per week, Monday to Friday
