Electrical Testing Technician I

CLPE offers a wide range of power system engineering services to investor-owned, municipal, cooperative, government, industrial, and commercial customers.
We're seeking an Electrical Testing Technician to join our Testing Team to perform mid/entry level inspections, testing, and maintaining electrical power equipment. Will work with electrical equipment, such as SF6 & vacuum circuit breakers, pad mount transformers/GSU transformers, grounding, instrument transformers, and variance of switches both manual and motor operated.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Perform mid/entry level testing of High, Medium, and Low voltage electrical power equipment under supervision.
•Testing on apparatus includes breakers, transformers, CT’s, PT’s, cables, and grounding.
•Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean equipment and components in a substation.
•Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and Engineering Personnel in order to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and determine optimum equipment functioning.
•Prepare and maintain reports detailing all tests, repairs, and maintenance performed.
•Knowledge and understanding of practical application of electrical theory and hazards in order to perform the job requirements successfully and safely.
•Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:
•Associate or Bachelor Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology or related field, or military experience preferred.
•Two to four (2-4) years of relevant industry experience
•Experience with the following:
+ Prescence of Voltage Verification
+ Contact Resistance
+ Insulation Resistance
+ Test Equipment Set Up
+ One-line Drawings
•Excellent oral and written communication skills
•Available to work overtime hours and travel to the field for extended time periods.
•Able to work well both independently and as a contributing team member.
Other Requirements:
•You must be a US Citizen.
•You will be required to obtain Military Base Access Security Clearance.
•A valid driver’s license with a record that meets the CLP Fleet Policy.

•CLPE offers an excellent benefits package that includes medical insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, 401k with company contribution, paid time off and paid holidays.
•Hourly payrate range: $30.00-$45.00 based on experience, plus eligible to participate in Short Term Incentive Plan.
