Electronics & Tool Repair Technician
Location: Northvale, NJ
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
We’re looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Electronics & Tool Repair Technician to join our on-site team in Northvale, NJ. This is a technical role supporting the repair and service of battery-powered production tools, industrial robotic riveters and network controllers used in advanced manufacturing. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in electronics and is ready to take on increasing responsibility, including leadership in our tool repair group.
This position incorporates electrical, mechanical and networking disciplines. You’ll also assist customers directly and eventually serve as the backup for the department lead.
What You’ll Do:
•Troubleshoot and repair tools to the component level (resistors, capacitors, transformers, motors)
•Perform failure analysis and identify root causes of performance issues
•Solder components and perform detailed electrical diagnostics
•Support customers remotely via email and virtual meetings (installations, troubleshooting, etc.)
•Use networking tools to diagnose issues related to IP configuration, connectivity, and controller communication
•Assign tools to technicians and assist with quotes, workflow, and customer issues
•Track failure trends and contribute to long-term improvement plans
Who We’re Looking For:
•Associate’s degree (completed, in progress or equivalent experience ) in Electronics Technology, Mechatronics, Engineering, Computer Science, or similar
•Hands-on experience with electronic circuits, soldering, and diagnostic tools
•Ability to work from schematics and troubleshoot to the component level
•Familiarity with networking concepts: IP addresses, topologies, protocols
•Basic mechanical tool skills (rulers, wrenches, metric and SAE tools)
•Clear communication skills, both verbal and written
•Strong organization and problem-solving ability
Preferred Experience:
•Background in industrial automation, production tools, or controller systems
•Familiarity with production or service environments
•Interest in stepping into a leadership or supervisory role over time
