JOB DESCRIPTION
Select Water’s Electrician is responsible for assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures in accordance with relevant codes and safety standards.
The essential job functions include, but are not limited to
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical systems and components.
- Use hand tools and testing instruments to diagnose and repair malfunctioning electrical systems, including switches, motors, and wiring.
- Replace faulty electrical elements such as sockets, switches, and circuit breakers.
- Dismantle and repair or replace defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes, and armatures.
- Mount and wire motors, transformers, lighting fixtures, and other equipment per schematics and specifications.
- Ensure all work is completed following established safety procedures and in compliance with local building and safety codes.
- Inspect completed installations for quality and code compliance.
- Estimate time and materials for electrical projects.
- Request and manage inventory of electrical supplies and equipment.
- Interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and electrical schematics.

Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
- Completion of a technical school program or accredited skilled trades training in electrical work.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience in the electrical field.
- Basic knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Strong manual dexterity and physical stamina.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
- Effective team player with the ability to follow directions and work under supervision.

Compensation Information
Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Physical Demands and Exposures
- Work is regularly performed in outside weather conditions, including rain and extreme cold and heat, near moving mechanical parts; exposure to high wind, ice, snow, wet and/or humid conditions, vibration, and dust is expected.
- Exposure to noise levels requiring the use of hearing protection.
- Prolonged sitting, standing, walking.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to individually lift: Maximum 50 lbs.
