The Apprentice Electrician will install and maintain the electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems under the guidance of a Journeyman/Master Electrician. The Apprentice Electrician must take and pass all required classes to maintain apprenticeship. This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Master or Journeyman Electrician.
Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to:
Installs conduit, wire, panels, lighting, outlets, breakers, and complete systems under the guidance of a Master/Journey Electrician.
Must be able to accurately account for materials used on projects.
Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring.
Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
Able to handle high stress situations and frequent interruptions.
Demonstrate professionalism; be courteous and friendly to customers and co-workers at all times.
Regular and reliable attendance and presence at work.
Regular interaction with peers on-site, including face-to-face meetings and spontaneous conferences.
Operate in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Follow company quality, safety, and environmental guidelines as well as employee handbook policies.
The Apprentice Electrician must be able to obtain an Apprentice license issued by the state.
Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics
Practical experience working with electrical systems and equipment.
