ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment.
Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit. Pulls wiring through conduit.
Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying
Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, circuit-breaker and starters in control
Connects power cables to equipment, such as an electric motor, and installs grounding leads.
Tests the continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing
instruments such as an ohmmeter, battery and buzzer, and oscilloscope.
Observes the functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and the need for adjustments,
Diagnose and replace or repair faulty equipment or systems.
Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as circuit boards.
Modifies file maintenance on all programmable logic control processors.
Meets quality and productivity standards at all times.
