About Island Gold District: Alamos Gold’s Island Gold District will become one of the largest and lowest-cost gold mines in Canada. With the two mines within the district, Island Gold and Magino employ over 900 team members who work in the underground and open pit operations and are located in northern Ontario, just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa. Through ongoing exploration success, Island Gold District’s Mineral Reserves and Resources have continued to grow in size and quality. The Phase 3+ Expansion of Island Gold to a production rate of 2,400 tpd from the current rate of approximately 1,200 tpd will involve various infrastructure investments. These include the development of a shaft and related facilities, paste backfill plant, mine water treatment facilities, an expansion of the Magino process plant and tailings facility, and power supply upgrades. Following the completion of the shaft in 2026, the operation will transition from trucking to skipping ore and waste to surface through the new shaft infrastructure, driving production higher and unit costs significantly lower.

The successful candidate will have well rounded experience with engineering review, managing contractors, procurement, surface and underground construction, processing plants, commissioning and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Shaft and surface complex + Loading Pocket and other off-shaft levels + Underground Ore and Waste Handling System + Surface plants including a Paste backfill plant, mill expansion, haul truck maintenance shop and mine water treatment plant + 44kV power upgrade and integration projects + 115kV power upgrade and integration projects + Sitewide network and communication infrastructure
