The Opportunity
We are looking for an EIC specialist with 2-5 years of work experience to join our talented, award-winning team. Thishire will expand on the capability of our design and commissioning team by adding another EIC with a specific focus on the electrical, instrumentation & controls aspect of our water treatment plants to:
•Develop detailed engineering design standards as well as documentation (i.e. equipment specifications, P&IDs, instrument lists, load lists and control documentation)
•Design, repair, install, troubleshoot and perform planned maintenance and corrective tasks on electrical, pneumatic and/or mechanical control systems, instrumentation and automation platforms, devices and ancillary equipment
•Develop process automation for treatment plants (i.e. control narratives, instrument specification, PLC/HMI programming, networking)
•Provide leadership in safety and environmental compliance
•Support our technology development group in scale-up and piloting apparatus builds
•Expand our team’s knowledge base by sharing your expertise
Qualifications and Experience Required
•A technical diplomaexperience equivalent in one of these disciplines: electrical, instrumentation or automation/controls
•2-5 years of work experience including balanced mix of in-office and in-field: » Facility automation design – create or review single line diagrams, P&IDs and vendor proposals » Controls programming » Hands-on plant commissioning and/or operation – ideally mining or industrial water treatment » Instrument specification and installation » Developing EIC standards and procedures
•Proven effective communication – you can clearly explain your work and recommendations in plain and simple language to project stakeholders who do not have an EIC background
•Strong mechanical aptitude – you have built things before and can figure out how things work
•Can-do attitude – you always find a way to get things done
•Strong attention to detail and ownership; takes responsibility for “getting things right”
•Build effective relationships within the company and with clients and suppliers
•Travel to remote sites within North America and internationally as required
•Ability to work hybrid from our brand new Vancouver office in Mount Pleasant
•You may be asked to review drawings, write a control philosophy/narrative, and walk us through troubleshooting an issue
•You may be asked design engineering questions using what you know about our technologies
•The legal right to work in Canada i.e. a citizen, PR, refugee, holder of a valid work permit for example.

Pay: $60,000.00-$110,000.00 per year

Schedule:
Work Location: our brand newly built office and lab in beautiful Mount Pleasant, Vancouver. This is an in-person role with travel elements, as you'll have the chance to visit interational sites for work and industry experience.
