Job Description:
The Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Specialist leads the programming and configuration of control systems for client-customized industrial projects. This hands-on role requires expertise in PLC, HMI, and network programming, along with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize control systems. The ideal candidate works independently, thinks critically, and delivers high-quality, innovative solutions tailored to client needs.
Responsibilities
•Program PLCs, HMIs, GUIs, radios, and instrumentation.
•Configure computer systems and establish network communications.
•Observe installed systems to identify potential hazards and determine adjustments, relocations, or replacements.
•Interpret and develop control schematics.
•Maintain effective written and verbal communication with internal teams and clients.
•Support project communications and contribute to positive client relationships.
•Monitor project revenue and costs to optimize profitability and minimize overruns.
•Ensure compliance with all necessary safety, quality, and applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
•Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
•5+ years of experience in instrumentation and controls.
•High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
•Apprentice electrical license required; journeyman or master license eligibility preferred.
•Proficient in PLC and HMI programming (Siemens, Modicon, Allen Bradley).
•Skilled in control system design, ladder logic, function blocks, and troubleshooting.
•Familiar with network setup, GUIs, and related software.
•Strong technical writing, documentation, and interpretation skills.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic design/database tools.
•Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and time management skills.
•Dependable, adaptable, and collaborative with a proactive mindset.
•Able to work independently or as part of a team.
•Willing to work on-call, after hours, and overtime as needed (Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.).
•Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
