The Role
This role provides technical leadership in the design and execution of EHT systems across major energy sector projects. The engineer will contribute to all phases of project execution, ensuring compliance with industry codes and client standards while mentoring design teams and coordinating deliverables.

•Provide technical expertise to electrical engineering team while carrying out duties and responsibilities as assigned by the lead electrical engineer.
•Execute engineering activities (Concept, Front End Engineering Development, Technical Study & Detailed Design).
•Handle, facilitate and coordinate engineering work to solve problems on technical, quality and site-specific matters related to the EHT circuits with respect to overall electrical design in the facility.
•Recommend new installations or modifications to improve existing facilities and standardization within broad fields of endeavors.
•Ensure that EHT designs comply with the relevant Codes, Standards, Regulations and Procedures.
•Assist the Lead Engineer and others when requested in the execution of their responsibilities and duties.
•Understanding and implementing the intricacies of zoning EHT circuits with appropriate power and control methodology with respect to both stabilized and control Limited EHT designs.
•Ensure EHT Isometrics and designs are in line with the piping, instrumentation, mechanical information utilizing the latest P&ID, area classification & LDT while being consistent with the project code and IEEE515 requirements.
•Ensure power connection, RTD location, cable type and length, trace ratio, sheath temperature, heat loss and appropriate safety factor are applied for the EHT system design.
•Provide insights on technical matters, perform checks, thorough review and Professional certification of EHT deliverables on EHT documents such as Panel schedule, Cable schedule, Wiring diagram, Controller set-up sheets and other client deliverables.
•Prepare and review drawings for accuracy; check and approve drawings prepared by EHT designers.
•Review of all project specifications and documentation necessary to develop a thorough understanding of the scope of work.
•Follow project requirements, along with expectations on quality, schedule or other restrictions of a technical nature.
•Follow established processes and procedures including Project Design guide, Project Execution Guide, Quality Plan and provide input where deficiencies occur.
•Maintain the Project Design folder structure.
•Interact and engage with customer representatives on technical issues.
Expected:
•Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution
•Minimum 10 years of engineering experience in EHT within the oil and gas industry
•Currently registered or eligible for registration with APEGA
•Proficient in Thermon and/or nVent heat tracing design software and applications
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to manage deliverables under tight deadlines
•Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
Desirable:
•Familiarity with energy transition and renewable project applications
•Experience supporting construction and commissioning of EHT systems
