Summit Skilled Solutions is urgently hiring an Electrical Engineering Technician to join our Client's dynamic team at their Lynchburg facility. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with electrical systems and a working knowledge of engineering software tools. This role involves assisting in the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for various applications while ensuring projects meet technical specifications and deadlines.
Electrical Engineering Technician Job Responsibilities:
Control Systems Assembly & Support:
•Assist in designing and assembling control panels using AutoCAD and related tools.
•Support the development and modification of PLC and HMI programs for equipment operation.
•Help implement control sequencing and speed modulation for three-phase motors.
Collaboration & Vendor Coordination:
•Work with engineers and vendors to support system interfaces and equipment requirements.
•Assist in control panel construction, ensuring adherence to design specifications.
Customer Support & Training:
•Provide basic on-site and remote technical support to customers as needed.
•Assist with training sessions for clients on system operation and maintenance.
Travel & Overtime:
•Willingness to travel 25–40% of the time for installations, troubleshooting, or training.
•Flexibility to work overtime during peak periods or project deadlines.
Parts Management:
•Identify, track, and procure parts for system installations and repairs.
Additional Responsibilities:
•Perform other tasks as assigned by the General Manager or Electrical Engineering Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
•Post-secondary education or technical training in electrical systems, focusing on low-voltage DC and AC circuits.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
•Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical schematic drawings.
•Familiarity with PLC ladder logic and HMI interfaces.
•Strong communication and teamwork skills.
•Self-motivated with a desire to continue learning and developing technical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field.
•Experience programming or troubleshooting PLC and HMI systems (Rockwell Automation and Siemens experience preferred).
•Understanding of electrical standards such as UL508 and NFPA79.
•Exposure to computer programming languages is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits:
•Pay range: $35–$45/hr, based on experience.
