General Galactic designs, develops, and builds advanced spacecraft for the most demanding missions. You will work closely with the founders and technical team to develop critical technology for our product fleet, including vehicle SN1 in early 2026. You’ll have extreme ownership over your work, move quickly, and operate with high agency. As we grow, there will be opportunities to expand your role with the company.
You will contribute to all aspects and own critical parts of the electrical design, testing, qualification, and integration for General Galactic vehicles and propulsion systems. Scope of work could include development of flight computers, power electronics, RF and comms, PCB development, telemetry, precision, navigation, and timing (PNT), mechanical isolation and harnessing, system bring-up, ground testing and DAQ systems, etc. Responsibilities may be tailored to the candidate’s profile and could include:
- Avionics development from conception to flight-ready systems and their integration
- Avionics design & interfacing, requirements capture, component selection, analysis, and critical system-level trades
- Prototype, design, bring-up, and validate flight computers, power systems, comms, and electronics
- Ground testing & DAQ system design and operation
- Validate system reliability via root cause and corrective action investigation, debugging, documentation, etc.
- Hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) testing and validation; testbed development and operation
- Ensure compliance with relevant government and/or safety requirements
Successful applicants should have most of the following:
- BS in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, or similar degree
- 2+ years of experience in development of electrical systems- Experience in a fast-paced startup environment or similar
- Willingness to contribute across a multitude of engineering challenges; ability to move quickly
- Hands-on circuit design experience and electronics test equipment experience
- Prior experience with Altium Designer or an alternative
- Comfortability with relevant government/MIL-spec standards
- Experience troubleshooting electronics problems at the board level or system level
- Strong engineering background and first-principles approach to problem solving even with incomplete or partial informationYour salary and incentives will be determined individually on the basis of the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base Range: $135,000 to $215,000/year + benefits + stock options plan
