Position purpose

Electrical Engineer should be fully proficient in all major aspects of process control and electrical design project execution related to electric heater controls and process instrumentation.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

- Assist in development of electrical controls and instrumentation standards

- Direct electrical draftsmen to ensure project drawings and equipment are in compliance with required electrical code or standard. (NEC, UL, CSA, IEC, Atex, IEC ex)

- Review customer electrical and instrumentation specifications to ensure customer requirements are met for each project.

- Assist Project Engineering and Applications Engineering in development of standard and project P&ID’s.

- Work with Project Managers to ensure projects are completed in a timely and commercially efficient manner.

- Assist Sales and Applications Engineering in developing accurate proposals compliant to customer requirements.

- Monitor electrical controls manufacturing for compliance with drawings and specifications.

- Assist manufacturing with construction issues.

- Assist field service employees technically as required.

- Attend project kickoff meetings internally and at customer locations.

- Prepare purchasing requirements for electrical equipment and instrumentation

- Ensure selection of electrical equipment and instrumentation is technically suitable and within project budget.

- Assist in providing customer documentation per project specifications

- Evaluate electrical equipment and instrumentation to ensure suitability for use and installation environment.

Qualifications

- B.S. from a four-year college or university in Electrical Engineering

- 2 years field experience

- Process equipment controls background preferred

- Proficient in ACAD Electrical

- Proficient in PLC programming a plus

- Experience with Medium Voltage (5KV) equipment a plus
